About This Spot

Stepping into Leo's Latticini in Corona feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood nook where time slows down just enough to savor something real. The modest storefront and unpretentious counters welcome you into a space where familiar smells of fresh bread, cheeses, and savory herbs mingle in the air. It’s the kind of spot where the rhythm is easy and unhurried, inviting both locals and visitors alike to pause, chat with the friendly staff, and soak up the warmth of an authentic Italian deli experience.

The atmosphere here is quietly vibrant—a blend of steady lunchtime hums and the occasional laugh exchanged over the counter. The women behind the counter carry themselves with a reassuring familiarity that makes the deli stand feel like an extension of a family kitchen, where each sandwich is crafted with intention and a nod to tradition. There’s a comforting honesty in every bite, whether it’s a hero piled with cold cuts and tender mozzarella or a hot lunch special that unfolds layers of home-style flavors.

What makes the experience at Leo’s truly notable is how each sandwich tells a story: the crusty, lovingly baked bread that holds together generous slices of prosciuttini or spicy sopressata; the rich, melting mozzarella that somehow feels freshly made just moments before. Add to this the occasional surprises from the daily specials—like a roast pork with brown gravy or an eggplant parmesan—and the deli becomes a place not only to eat but to connect with simple, joyful comfort food.

Leo’s doesn’t rush you—it lets you feel at home, encourages you to explore different layers of old-world Italian deli mastery, and above all, leaves you with a subtle satisfaction that lingers long after your visit. Whether you’re grabbing a quick sandwich or settling in for a cozy lunch, it’s a reminder that the heart of a place often beats strongest in its small, unassuming corners.

Absolutely best Deli in New York. The ladies there are super helpful, and the food can't be beat. In particular, the Italian hero. Both sweet and hot, with or without mushrooms. The other daybthey made me the Tuesday chicken special, which was chicken Alfredo hot on a hero with some prescuitto .... Forgeddabouit!!

The bread alone is worth every star. Had the Mama’s Special (without the mushrooms). Fabulous sandwich and did I mention the bread? Get a side of the DELICIOUS potato salad.

A bit overrated tbh. The cheese was nice and succulent but sandwich was kinda dry. Portions are huge however

Stopped in on my lunch break- I so happy I did. Very cozy spot, the food is perfect- good quality and not overly complicated. That you to the lovely ladies working the counter! I felt like I was at my grandmas house. And don’t forget to grab a coffee at the bakery down the block- aka the garden :) if I’m in the area again, I’ll be stopping back!

I flew down from Buffalo just to eat that sandwich. It was so delicious. The Italian, with mushrooms and sweet peppers. You go next door to the bakery and sit down to eat. I got a delicious cappuccino after my sandwich. It was a true treasure hunt. I highly recommend it.

Best Italian hero’s in Queens. Worth the stop. Be warned that they close early so make sure to check store hours. Excellent outdoor courtyard to eat your lunch.

After nearly 15 years, I finally made it back to Leo's Latticini (aka Mama’s), and it was like stepping back in time! The same wonderful ladies are still running this authentic Italian deli, keeping the tradition and charm alive. If you're looking for true Italian food and products, this is *the* place to be. I ordered the Mama's Special, a perfect combination of Prosciuttini, Salami, and Mozzarella with Mushrooms and Peppers. It was as amazing as I remembered—packed with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. Every bite took me back to why this deli has stood the test of time. Leo’s Latticini is not just a deli, it's an institution. Whether you're a regular or it's been years since your last visit, the warmth and authenticity here never change. Highly recommend for anyone craving a taste of Italy!
